To reduce the risk of missing information a patient might adhere to the following tips: To take a family member/ friend along while talking to a physician To write questions before the consultation Not to be shy to ask a question again, if not understanding the answer To tell and reflect what was said Stop the conversation if the amount of information is to much and ask for a second consultation Make notices to have the possibility to read them after the consultation
