Welcome to the ACGT web site

Biology, medicine, clinical trials and information technology are all converging to a point where personalized treatment will soon become a reality. Personalized treatment promises patients a much better chance of receiving the correct drug for their condition as well as plans 'designed' in such a way that drug side effects and other treatment complications are minimized.

Clinical Trials are a central element of these developments since they help researchers and medical professionals to better understand disease mechanisms and hence potential treatment paths to explore. Clinical trials generate the field data that researchers need to expand current knowledge of disease dosage requirements on which the design of future drugs is based.

ACGT is a EU project that supports this convergence by offering an open platform where information-technology-based services and resources are made available to a variety of user groups including doctors, researchers and patients.

As a patient you may benefit from ACGT in 4 distinct ways. You may:

  1. Find information or join Clinical Trials being supported by ACGT. [more...]
  2. Use ACGT software services and resources intended for patients. [more...]
  3. Find information on advocacy groups that can help you. [more...]
  4. Find information on legal and ethical issues regarding clinical trials and related matters. [more...]
