Anca Bucur received her master degree in Computer Science from the Technical University of Bucharest, Romania, in 1997 and her PhD in High Performance Computing (on resource management in wide-area computer systems) from Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands, in 2004.
Since 2003 she has joined Philips Research Laboratories, in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, where she carries out research in the healthcare area. Currently she is a senior scientist in the Healthcare Systems Architecture group. She has worked in both Philips-internal and collaborative (national and international) research projects in the areas of brain imaging, clinical information systems and PACS, and computational genomics. Her main research interests focus on clinical information systems and PACS, clinical decision support systems, computational genomics, parallel and distributed computing, and high performance computing with applications in the healthcare domain.
